His many years of experience in the music industry have led him to work with a diverse array of artists including: John Zorn, Trey Spruance, Amanda Palmer, Wayne Horvitz, Eyvind Kang, Jason Webley as well as bands Secret Chiefs 3, Estradasphere, and Fishtank Ensemble. For the last decade Jason has performed as both a guitarist and bassist within the U.S. and internationally, featuring performances at the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Rothbury Festival, and the 10,000 Lakes Festival.
Currently Jason is a freelance composer employed by Elias Arts, a world-renowned music production house in Santa Monica, CA. At Elias he both performs and creates original musical content, which is used for television and radio commercials. Jason also has extensive experience in audio engineering and owns and operates Blue Giant Studios, a full-service recording studio located in Hollywood, CA.
In 2000 Jason graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz, where he earned a Bachelors of Music with emphasis in composition, electronic music, jazz studies, and classical guitar performance. In 2010 he completed the film-scoring program at UCLA, where he graduated with honors. The curriculum at UCLA included comprehensive study of orchestration, arranging, and conducting, while also focusing on modern scoring techniques such as midi orchestration, electronics, and sound design.
